EDMAP

Regulatory Compliance

In the education business, as you are well aware, your institution is subject to numerous rules and regulations that impact many aspects of your operational activities. At ED MAP, we have developed solutions and procedures to help you comply with regulations regarding course materials.

  • Section 133 (Textbook Information) of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) became effective July 1, 2010. It seeks to “ensure that students have access to affordable course materials by decreasing costs to students and enhancing transparency and disclosure with respect to the selection, purchase, sale, and use of course materials … while supporting the academic freedom of faculty members to select high quality course materials for students.”
  • 2008 changes to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) include limited use of student identification numbers with organizations to which you have outsourced fulfillment of student course materials orders; and
  • Pell Grant Program Integrity Final Rules became effective July 1, 2011. Among other changes, the rules moved up the date by which institutions are required to disburse funds to students to purchase books and supplies.

ED MAP’s services are designed to help you focus on educating your students. Let us help you comply with these regulations.
